Natalie Adona for Nevada County Clerk-Recorder
I am running for Nevada County Clerk-Recorder because I believe that I have the experience needed to provide the best services to our wonderful community, and to deliver in a way that’s professional, nonpartisan, and citizen-focused. Please support my candidacy by donating, volunteering, and voting on June 7, 2022.
For the citizens of Nevada County, I offer experience, integrity, and dedication to public service. I am currently the Assistant Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters for Nevada County, and also serve as the Chair of the California Association of Clerks and Election Officials (CACEO) Constitution and Bylaws Committee and the Co-Chair of the state Ballot Design Advisory Committee.
Previously, I was the Senior Research and Learning Associate for the Elections Program at Democracy Fund, a private philanthropy based in Washington, DC. I am the co-author of “Understanding the Voter Experience” and the co-author/Principal Investigator of “Stewards of Democracy.” I started out my career in elections in 2008 serving as a poll worker trainer in San Francisco and Alameda Counties. I hold a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law and a M.P.A. from AU’s School of Public Affairs.
I’ve lived and worked in Nevada County since moving here in October 2019. I was born on Travis Air Force Base and was raised in Vallejo, California, where my family has roots dating back over 100 years. I’ve lived in Montana and in Washington, DC, and I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to live in Grass Valley and serve this community of remarkable people and the people of our great state of California.
When I’m not working, I’m hiking, running, and practicing yoga. I have my 200-hour teaching certification in power yoga and enjoy learning its philosophy. I’m also a wannabe guitar player, Star Trek nerd, and lover of martial arts movies.
